Snaps to the real road
Reads the road name, posted speed, lane count and bearing from the map. Devices follow the actual centerline, not a straight line someone eyeballed.

iOS beta · All 50 states · Coming soon
Draw a box around the work. Traffic Control Companion snaps to the real road, picks the closure type, and lays out every cone, sign and taper to the national MUTCD, with your state's supplement on top. In minutes, on your phone, anywhere in the country.
Invites go out in order. One more thing so we send you the right stuff:
What it does
Reads the road name, posted speed, lane count and bearing from the map. Devices follow the actual centerline, not a straight line someone eyeballed.
Freeway and expressway work gets its own mode. Taper lengths, buffer space and advance warning distances come from the speed, not from memory.
Built on the national MUTCD. Pick your state and the app layers that state's supplement on top. Eight closure types, a compliance check that tells you what's short and why, and a PDF packet for the permit office.
The differentiator
Stand where the taper starts, hit center, and the plan builds around your position. Advance warning signs, shoulder taper, merge taper, buffer, work space, termination. Every distance derived from the posted speed and the lane count the app just read off the road.
Example output. Every plan still gets reviewed by the qualified person on the job.
Why sign up now
TestFlight links go out to the list in order. Earlier on the list, earlier on the road.
Whatever we offer when the app drops, the list hears about it before anyone else does.
Hi-vis, PPE, signs, cones, arrow boards. When we find a real deal for crews, you hear about it. Opt in per category.

Questions
Plans are generated to the national MUTCD, which every state adopts as its baseline. Where a permit requires a licensed engineer's stamp (most freeway work), you still need that. The app builds you a compliant diagram fast. It does not replace a PE stamp where one is legally required.
All 50 plus DC. Every plan starts from the national MUTCD. Where your state publishes its own supplement, the app applies those rules on top, so the taper lengths and sign spacing match what your inspector expects.
Both. Standard mode covers local and arterial setups. Highway mode is a separate toggle for freeway and expressway work.
Yes. Export any plan to PDF and send it by email, text or AirDrop.
Place devices by hand on the map, build the custom layout, save it as a plan and reuse it on the next job.
We'll announce that closer to launch. The waitlist hears first, with advance notice before anything changes.
